We’re part of the Hawaii Electric Vehicle Association, a chapter of the EVA, the oldest non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the adoption of sustainable transportation in the country. The EVA was created in 1967. Its purpose (from the EVA website):
- For the public: Promote, educate, and advocate regarding EV availability, alternatives, infrastructure, benefits, and legislation. Our EV Owner/Educator members act as a credible source of information for car shoppers.
- For our chapters: Enable success through supporting infrastructure, financial assistance, information sharing, and common resource leverage.
- For our members: Act as a centralized information source and be a national advocate for owners on EV technology and infrastructure.
The EVA supports chapters across the country with resources and know-how. It provides us with educational materials, event insurance, and operational support. It relies exclusively on membership dues, donations, and volunteers to support its mission.
EVA membership also offers a growing number of incentives and resources:
- Clean Energy Credit Union membership with access to low-cost EV and energy system loans.
- NeoCharge Smart Splitter discount– $125 off a splitter that allows two EVs or an EV and a dryer to share a 240V outlet.
- Battery Health Reports from Recurrent Auto – The EVA works with Recurrent to better understand battery degradation and range loss, particularly for used electric cars. Contribute to this initiative by signing up for free monthly battery reports to share anonymous data. For each new EV, Recurrent is donating $10 to the EVA so we can expand and enhance our programming.
- Members-only resources – Articles, event tools, policy toolkit, presentation support.
