Hawaii Island celebrates National Drive Electric Week at the second annual He Ala Pono EV and Sustainability Fair on September 23 at the Prince Kuhio Plaza. Event activities:
- 10 AM-Noon – An outdoor gathering of EV owners in the parking area fronting the Walmart-Office Max complex. Big Island EV owners can compare cars, share experiences, and help the curious public make their next car electric. Food trucks will be nearby. Expect the latest EVs from local dealers – Aloha Kia, Big Island Motors, BMW of Hawaii, and Orchid Isle Auto Center.
- 10 AM – 2 PM – An indoor event at the Prince Kuhio Plaza. This will include EV (including e-Bike) dealer vehicle displays and booths from several organizations focused on climate, sustainability, and resilience. Big Island EV will share a booth with the Big Island Tesla Club.
If you’re a Big Island EV owner, we invite you to join one or both events. We need owners who want to share their cars with the public and answer questions about ownership. Increased adoption of EVs will accelerate our transition to more efficient, cleaner vehicles.
If you want to join the event (sharing a car, volunteering for the booths, or just attending), please sign up at driveelectricweek.org/event?eventid=3921.
He Ala Pono Electric Vehicle and Sustainability Fair is co-hosted by Big Island EV, Hawaiian Electric, and Sustainable Energy Hawaii. National Drive Electric Week is presented by Plug In America, The Electric Vehicle Association, The Sierra Club, EVHybridNoire, and Drive Electric USA.
