The Electric Vehicle Tax Credit is a valuable tool for encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. The current tax credit is capped at 200,000 vehicles per auto manufacturer (something already reached by GM and Tesla). The ‘Driving America Forward Act‘, a bipartisan proposal will raise the cap to 600,000 vehicles per automaker. This act is supported by auto manufacturers, sustainability advocates, and EV owners but is facing push back by the fossil fuel industry.
