Thanks to the persistence of Eric Hayden (BIEVA Kona Advisor), we were able to join the Kailua-Kona Community Independence Day Parade on July 4, 2019. We were limited in the number of cars that can be included but managed to have a couple of Tesla Model 3s, a Nissan LEAF, a BMW i3, and a Chevy Bolt. The crowd was pleased to see our participants. Some were EV owners who were not aware of our association. (Some have subsequently joined us!)

A favorite quote from member Holly Algood: “I was deeply touched to hear kids cheer for the car shouting, “Yay Tesla – that’s the car I want when I grown up!””
