One of our east Hawaii members recently took possession of what’s, perhaps, the first 2017 Volt on the island. His initial feedback on this EV suggests that it can meet the needs of many – it offers decent performance and the abiltiy to traverse our island without range anxiety. Here’s what he has shared:
Our 2017 Volt arrived March 30. We picked it up the next day and are pleased to say that it is everything nice that the reviewers have said.
Yesterday we took it to Kona so we got to experience driving it under gas power for the first time. We were impressed that for such a large car with such a small engine it seemed plenty peppy. When the gas engine first came on we would not have noticed except that we were watching for it to happen. When going up hills or accelerating we were able to hear the engine. It seems to regen easier, more efficiently, than our older electric car. It also accepts more amperage when plugged in so it charges faster than we expect.
Our salesman, Cody, at De Luz said that the dealership has one ordered for a demo but… it may take some time to arrive.
He has offered to show or demo his car for anyone interested. Please send me a message here if you’d like to make contact.
